بالانتهاء من أعمال الترميم لسلطان مصر الشهير الأشرف قايتباي

Wednesday 8 July 2015 - 21 Ramadan 1436, a celebration in the “City of the
Dead” will mark the completion of a conservation project and the start of a new
one in buildings constructed more than five hundred years ago by the
illustrious Sultan of Egypt, al-Ashraf Qaitbey. The work, funded primarily by
the European Union Delegation to Egypt with a contribution from the Embassy of
the Kingdom of the Netherlands and carried out by ARCHiNOS Architecture, aims
at both preserving the historic buildings and making them useful for the local
community. The festivity will be a tribute both to the Sultan’s glory and the
skills of the many traditional craftspeople working in the neighbourhood.
سيشهد يوم الأربعاء
الموافق 8 يوليو 2015 (21 رمضان 1436) الاحتفال بالانتهاء من أعمال الترميم والبداية
في مشروع جديد لترميم المباني التي أقامها سلطان مصر الشهير الأشرف قايتباي ، والتي
شهدت على أكثر من 500 عاماً من التاريخ. وقد قام الاتحاد الأوروبي في مصر بتمويل المشروع
بمساهمة من سفارة المملكة الهولندية وقام مكتب "أركينوس المعماري " بأعمال
الترميم وذلك بهدف الحفاظ على المباني الأثرية وإتاحة الفرصة امام المجتمع المحلي للاستفادة
منها . كما يكرم الاحتفال هذه الحقبة الهامة من تاريخ مصر وكذلك مهارات الحرفيين المحليين
الذين يقيمون في المنطقة .
